Cercidia prominens  (Westring, 1851)


Male palp with elongated median apophysis. Epigyne with short, haired scapus and strongly sclerotised copulatory opening. Prosoma reddish brown, sometimes darkened laterally. Sternum black-brown. Legs brown, vaguely darkly annulated. Opisthosoma brown with darker transverse stripes, anteriorly with short, robust spines, dorsally often with golden-yellow median part, ventrally with golden-yellow longitudinal stripes.

Body length male: 4-5 mm
Body length female: 6-6.5 mm

near the ground amongst grass in forests and meadows, not in the mountains
