Argiope bruennichi  (Scopoli, 1772)

Description

Male palp with median apophysis, longer than wide, with uniform teeth. Conductor straight. Prosoma female: silver, shiny, male: unicoloured silver-grey or yellowish, shiny. Sternum dark brown, with yellow median spot. Legs yellowish, annulated with brown. Opisthosoma female: dorsally with numerous white or yellow transverse stripes, ventrally dark brown with yellow longitudinal stripes and some spots. Male: unicoloured silver-grey or yellowish, shiny.

Body length male: 6.9-8.3 mm
Body length female: 9.9-22 mm
