Araneus diadematus  Clerck, 1757

Description

Body colour very variable, from light yellowish to brownish, reddish to almost black. Legs distinctly annulated. Opisthosoma appearing angular anteriorly, widest in anterior third, dorsally with distinct, cross-shaped, white pattern.

Body length male: 4-11 mm
Body length female: 10-22.5 mm
Additional information

on herbs and bushes, mostly in forest edges, in gardens and at buildings
