Aculepeira ceropegia  (Walckenaer, 1802)

Description

Male palp with finely serrated base of median apophysis. Conductor with deep furrow. Epigyne with very broad scapus basally. Prosoma reddish brown, eye region and margin brighter. Sternum dark brown. Chelicerae light brown. Legs light brown, with darker annulations. Opisthosoma ventrally with yellowish white longitudinal stripes on both sides of dark median area, dorsally with characteristic, yellowish white pattern, otherwise reddish, red-brown to black.

Body length male: 8 mm
Body length female: 13-15 mm
Additional information

On grass and bushes in shadeless terrain, more frequent in the mountains than in the plain
