Silometopus curtus  (Simon, 1881)


Tibial apophysis short and straight. Prosoma brown to dark brown, median spot posteriorly blunt-angularly, 3 dark stripes radiating to the eyes, distinct radial stripes, margin of prosoma black. Sternum brown-black. Chelicerae yellow-brown. Legs yellow-brown, blackened distally. Opisthosoma black, flat, long oval, densely provided with impressed dots, ventrally dark grey. Spinnerets yellowish.

Body length male: 1.3-1.4 mm
Body length female: 1.5 mm
Additional information

In dune areas, tolerates flooding with sea water


Figures by Wiehle (1960a) and Locket & Millidge (1953) of Silometopus curtus have been transferred to Silometopus ambiguus because of misidentification (Locket et al. 1974; Blick, 2014)
